ActiveView is the most exciting development for the Livelink™ Enterprise Server's user interface in years. It's attraction is the ability to entirely customize the browse interface whilst retaining optimal system performance. With a minimum of effort make the following objects look and work the way you need them to:

• Folders
• Projects
• Compound Documents
• Personal Assignments (tasks and workflow)
• Personal Projects
• Personal Workspaces

ActiveView is much more than just a simple re-skinning of the standard user-interface. ActiveView can surface extra information such as content meta-data (including categories and attributes), additional user information or buttons and links to LES functions.

Use ActiveView to paginate browse views allowing users to access content in manageable chunks; or vary the interface a user sees based on their group membership, permissions or some other factor. For example, hide the Add Item buttons or surface a warning if a user has consumed too much space in their personal workspace.

Flexibility

With ActiveView you can apply tailored views on an object-by-object basis, throughout a container hierarchy, or globally across the entire Livelink Enterprise Server. ActiveViews will use permissions to establish whether or not they should be active for a particular user.

Security

ActiveView always observes user permissions on the items in the browse view. Security of data is never brought into question as ActiveView uses the pre-existing Livelink Enterprise Server infrastructure to retrieve data before processing the data itself.

Industry standard skills

ActiveView lifts the hood on the Livelink Enterprise Server allowing users to deploy simple but fast HTML pages through to feature rich applications built right into the fabric of the browse page using JavaScript and Ajax technologies. ActiveView ships with default templates for Folders, Projects and Compound documents. These templates are indistinguishable from the regular browse pages and provide the user with a quick way to make small changes like adding a column with attribute data to the browse page - literally a five minute task.

Upgrade safe

The latest version of ActiveView is supported on 9.5, 9.6 and 9.7. By deploying ActiveView instead of custom oscript modules to make changes to the Livelink Enterprise Server interface you guarantee less work when it comes to upgrades of Livelink Enterprise Server. Using a fully supported and productized method of customizing your user interface ensures a lower ongoing Total Cost of Ownership.

Behind the scenes ActiveView uses the incredibly popular technology of Livelink ECM - WebReports allowing you to deploy a cutting edge product without the worry of unproven technology. (Please note that the use of standard WebReports is not included with ActiveView. Furthermore WebReports licenses are not required in order to use ActiveView.)
