This month has been particularly busy here at Resonate KT. We launched our latest product WebReports Extensions for Workflow at the beginning of the month, and feedback so far has been great. The new module enhances WebReport's reach into workflows and allows you to do some great things such as skinning workflow steps. If you missed the announcements find out more about our great launch offer below.
It is also conference season and Open Text's annual Content World event is on the doorstep. All of the senior team from Resonate KT will be in Orlando and are looking forward to meeting with you. If you would like to arrange a time to meet with one of us drop us a note. This is your chance to meet with experts who can offer technical help and for you to influence product direction and new features.

We are pleased to announce the release of WebReports Extensions for Workflow, our latest solution for Open Text's Content Server.
To celebrate this, until the end of October we are offering all existing WebReports customers an opportunity to obtain a copy of this great new solution for free. Register your interest now and you could obtain a copy of the WebReports Extensions for Workflow software at no cost.
In other news, we would also like to introduce you to the newest member of our team. Robert Skanes joins us as our new Director of Global Sales. His name may already be familiar to you as Robert has been actively involved with Livelink solutions for many of the last 5 years. Please join us in welcoming him to the team!
We got some great responses from you following our last newsletter when we announced our updated online demonstration server.
To add to the WebReports demonstrations we have now added a section showcasing some of the many things you can do with ActiveView. If you haven't already paid it a visit I would certainly recommend you take a look. If there's more demos you would like to see drop us a note.
This issue our resident nerds take a look at updating permissions on Content Server items that are not related by hierarchical association. A number of you have told us that you would like to be able to update permissions on disparate objects and doing it manually through the web interface simply takes too long.
To allow the application of permission updates in such an ad-hoc way you need to use the PERMACTION sub-tag. This sub-tag allows bulk permission updates to be automated using scheduled reports or leveraged in the browser through WR Services.
PERMACTION is used at the server with a simple syntax like:
[LL_REPTAG=DATAID PERMACTION:ACL:1234:UPDATE:SEE,SEECONTENTS /].
This adds user 1234 to the ACL of the object given in DATAID, and sets the access level to See and See Contents.
You could also use WR Services with the following syntax to perform the same permissions update:
?func=webreports.runservice&servicetype=gettagdata&tagdata=5322&
subtags=PERMACTION:ACL:1234:UPDATE:SEE,SEECONTENTS.
In this case the object to which the permissions update is applied to is 5322.
If you want to find out more, we've created you a complete example in our new WebReports demo site.
As you probably know, Open Text's Content World event will be taking place in Orlando next week. As in previous years we are running a short series of training sessions. U-TR-225 covers the WebReports design process, and U-TR-246 looks at some of the more advanced aspects of WebReports development.
The full management team will be on-site for the event, so let us know if you are attending and would like to meet up.
During this session we highlight some of the capabilities delivered with WebReports 5.0.1, as well as taking a closer look at the new Workflow capabilities introduced to WebReports through the new Extensions for Workflow.
